Kazakhstan has set an ambitious strategic goal: to connect 99% of its population to high-speed internet by the end of 2027. This massive infrastructure undertaking is expected to fundamentally reshape the nation's economic and social fabric. Digitization of rural areas is proceeding rapidly; while 2,606 villages were connected to high-speed internet by the end of 2025, another 1,900 villages are slated for connection during the current 2026 cycle. Simultaneously, 4G network coverage is expanding, with an additional 836 settlements scheduled to receive upgrades this year.

The backbone of the national infrastructure—fiber-optic lines—will reach over 3,000 villages in the next two years. This project will provide high-quality internet access to 400,000 rural households, impacting approximately 2.5 million people. In urban areas, the expansion of 5G technology continues at pace. Currently operational in 20 major cities, 5G coverage is expected to reach 75% of urban territories through the installation of new base stations. Transport logistics are also a priority, with a major project to provide mobile connectivity along 40,000 kilometers of main highways now entering its final phase.

Kazakhstan is reinforcing its role as a digital transit hub between Europe and Asia. The laying of a fiber-optic cable across the Caspian Sea floor to Azerbaijan, scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2026, will elevate Kazakhstan's international transit capabilities. Furthermore, the nation is taking significant strides in the aerospace industry, with plans to export up to six home-grown Earth remote sensing satellites. The anticipated $75 million in revenue will mark the first high-tech export in the country's history. To bolster the cybersecurity of state services, all new information systems are being integrated into the unified QazTech digital platform.
